Orangetown To Hold 9/11 Memorial Ceremony
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- In its annual effort to make sure the victims of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, are not forgotten, Orangetown will hold a memorial ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11The ceremony, which begins at 2 p.m., will be held on the grounds of Town Hall, and is an opportunity for the community to commemorate those who lost their lives on that day. Ramapo Police To Release Documents In Civil Rights Case
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The New York Civil Liberties Union will receive unredacted police documents from Ramapo they have been seeking for more than 14 months dealing with allegations against the Ramapo Police Department for excessive use of force and other actions, according to lohud.com.The union requested the reports as part of a federal civil rights lawsuit by four state parole officers, who said their civil rights were violated by Ramapo police during a traffic stop in 2014, said lohud.com. Woman Charged With Stealing From Sears In Yorktown With Daughter
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mahopac resident was charged with shoplifting after being caught on Monday stealing items from the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley Mall. Kathleen McDevitt, 49, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, after she was caught taking the $99 in items from the store while with her 9-year-old daughter, Yorktown Police said. McDevitt was released on $200 bail and is due to appear in court on Oct. 4.

Clarkstown Police Seek Public's Help In Locating Wanted Fugitive
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a Congers man wanted on a warrant charging him with stalking and harassment.Oscar Lara, 24, wanted on a warrant, is described as being a white male, 6 feet tall with brown hair and eyes. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- High school students interested in health care can now get a jump on their education in the field when St. Vincent's College and the Bridgeport Public School District kick off a new Healthcare Career and College Readiness Pilot Program this fall at Bassick High School. Police Arrest Teen After Armed Robbery At Westchester Marriott In Tarrytown
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Yonkers teen was nabbed on Saturday by Greenburgh Police after an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown.Kenneth Venable, 18, of Yonkers Avenue, was charged with felony robbery, after a 22-year-old woman reported that she was robbed at gunpoint while in her room on Monday, Aug. 22, by a man who hit her in the head and stole her cell phone, police said. MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Laniece Ryland knew something was wrong when she hadn't heard from her friend Ashley McDuffie of Mount Vernon in several days and word spread that the young mother had failed to contact her children.
