Motorcycle Crashes Into Dump Truck In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. -- A Fairfield man was seriously injured early Friday when his motorcycle collided with a garbage truck on White Street in Danbury, according to the Danbury Police Department.Eric Ganser, 45, was traveling westbound on White Street on his 2006 Harley Davidson behind a large tractor-trailer driven by Sean Scozzafava, 40, of New Milford, said Danbury police.
Scazzafava who was driving a 2005 Mack truck, owned by Winter Brothers Waste Systems, was turning left from White Street into the entrance of Winter Brothers Waste Systems, when he struck Ganser, police said.

American Flags To Be Replaced On Arlington Fire Trucks
ARLINGTON, N.Y. -- Following a controversy over the order to remove American flags from the back of Arlington Fire District fire trucks that garnered national media coverage, a decision has been made to add the flags back to the trucks.During a meeting on Thursday, Arlington Fire Chief Tory Gallante, Board of Fire Commissioners Chairman Jim Beretta, and Joseph Tarquinio, president of Arlington Professional Fire Fighters Association, came to an agreement to use smaller flags on each frontline engine at district stations, according to a statement from the group.

Dutchess Mom Survives 35 Minutes Without Heartbeat
POUGHQUAG, N.Y. -- A Dutchess mom of three who survived for 35 minutes without a heartbeat, recently returned home to her family and is spending the time getting used to her new life, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
On June 15, Lucille Grippo, 45, of Poughquag was sound asleep when she suffered what is known as Long QT Syndrome, a disorder of the heart's electrical system that can bring on sudden, dangerous arrhythmias, according to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the Journal said.

Ramapo Police Respond To 14 Accidents Wednesday, 1 Fatal
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo Police were kept busy Wednesday investigating 14 car accidents, two which resulted in injuries, including one death, the remaining accidents caused property damage.
The accidents occurred in: Chestnut Ridge, Airmont, Montebello, Wesley Hills (two), Monsey (four), and Hillcrest (three).
One of the Monsey accidents included the death of an 18-year-old woman who was hit by a car as she tried to cross Route 59.
The department also responded to 117 calls for service:

One arrest for a bench warrant
