Woman Escapes Rapist From Internet Who Pushed Her Down Stairs: Fairfax County PD
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a Fairfax County rape of a woman he'd met online, authorities said. Yeudy Saul Chavez Sandoval, of Kingstowne, lured the victim into an apartment on the 6000 block of Alexandria Avenue in Fort Hunt around 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, then pushed her down the stairs, county police said. The woman suffered serious injuries and was then raped by Sandoval, before escaping and calling 911, police said. 'Concerning Note' Left By Missing Virginia Man; Massive Search Under Way
A search is under way for a Virginia man who went missing and left a concerning note behind, police said. Jaishon Montgomery, 26, was last seen leaving his Plumage Eagle Street home in Woodbridge the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 22, county police said. A note left by Jaishon was located contained concerning statements, and he was reported missing on Sunday, Aug. 27, police noted. Sheriff's Officer Charged With DUI In Off-Duty Spotsylvania Crash
A Spotsylvania Sheriff's Officer lost his job after he drove drunk and crashed while off-duty last week, authorities said. William Nathaniel Campbell, who was hired in January 2023, had crashed his vehicle on Leavells Road near Battlefield Elementary School on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m., and a citizen called police, Sheriff Roger Harris said. The 27-year-old daughter of a Delaware County police officer was killed in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend in Philadelphia. Newark Man, 50, Dies Days After Irvington Shooting
A 50-year-old Newark man was fatally shot in Irvington, police said. Tony King was found suffering gunshot wounds around 11:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, on the 100 block of Isabella Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers said. King was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The investigation is active and ongoing. A 41-year-old Queens, NY woman working as a masseuse in Essex County was arrested in an undercover prostitution sting, authorities said.
