Cocaine, Billy Club Found On East Hampton Man Passed Out Behind The Wheel: Police
A Long Island man found slumped over his steering wheel at a gas station Friday, Oct. 16 is now facing several charges, police said.
Thomas R. Piacentine, 37, of East Hampton, was impaired behind the wheel, had cocaine in his vehicle, and possessed a “Billy club,” the Southampton Town Police Department said.
Cops arrived near 500 County Road 39 in Southampton, a Sunoco gas station, on Friday and found an unconscious man in a vehicle and identified him as Piacentine, authorities said. Officers then observed the drugs and the weapon, police said.

Fatal Hit-Run Crash: Suspect Nabbed In Hampton Bays
A Long Island man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into a fatal hit-and-run.
Southampton Town Police said Benjamin J. SheenWaltzer, age 32, turned himself in on Friday, Nov. 15, after being linked to a crash on Springville Road in Hampton Bays.
The crash on Wednesday, March 6 killed Angel Astimbay, age 67, a resident of Hampton Bays.
SheenWaltzer, of Southampton, faces felony charges of:
Leaving the scene of an accident with injuries resulting in death,
Tampering with physical evidence.
He was arraigned in Suffolk County Court and released on $50,000 bail.

Fatal Crash: 21-Year-Old From East Hampton ID'd As Victim In Riverhead
One person was killed in a crash involving a pair of vehicles on a Long Island roadway.
It happened around 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 in Riverhead, near a Target on Old Country Road.
A 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R, operated by Christian Gutierrez, age 21, of East Hampton, struck another motorcycle, a 2006 Yamaha R6, operated by Rodolfo Castillo, age 54 of Southampton.
Gutierrez had numerous injuries and died at the scene, Riverhead Police said.
