Sunny Skies Fill Passaic's Workweek PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. – Passaic County residents might find it difficult to stay indoors this week as sunny skies and warm temperatures have settled into the region.  Monday will be mostly sunny with high temperatures around 87 degrees.  Tuesday will be slightly warmer with temperatures creeping into the 90s.  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will remain mostly-to-partly sunny with temperatures in the high-80s and a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms each day.

Middletown Police Chief Announces Retirement MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Middletown Police Chief Ramon Bethencourt will retire at the end of July. Bethencourt began his career with the Middletown Police Department in December of 1992, rising through the ranks to become Orange County’s first African-American Chief of Police in February of 2010. Bethencourt previously served as a patrolman for the Village of Ellenville Police, from 1989 until his appointment to the Middletown Police Department. He is a graduate of the 233rd Session of the prestigious FBI National Academy.

Cuddebackville Man Charged With Stealing Mail DEER PARK, N.Y. – A Cuddebackville man was charged with stealing mail from homes in New York and Pennsylvania recently, according to New York State Police.  Franklin E. Tiritilli, 29, was in the process of burglarizing a home in Deer Park when he was arrested. Troopers found roughly 100 pieces of mail while searching Tiritilli's car, officials said.  Tiritilli was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools. He was remanded to Orange County Jail pending a future court date, police said.
