Ridgefield Public Schools Surprises Teacher of the Year RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Ridgefield Public Schools named Jennifer Roth the 2017-18 teacher of the year of East Ridge Middle School in a surprise announcement on May 5. Superintendent Karen Baldwin made the announcement during a teacher appreciation luncheon.  "The teacher of the year experience, from an organizational standpoint, it really makes us think about our heroes and heroines," Baldwin said at the luncheon.  Teachers gave Roth a bouquet of flowers along with a makeshift crown and sash.
