Wood-Ridge Train Station To Reopen In May WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. -- NJ Transit will open the Westmont train station in Wood-Ridge on Sunday, May 15, according to NorthJersey.com. The station was originally slated to open in 2011 but experienced several delays. Hawthorne Resident Loses Weight Thanks To ShopRite Nutritionist HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- Hawthorne resident Teresa Dooley was able to lose more than 50 pounds with the help of ShopRite of Hoboken’s Registered Dietitian Jenna Werner. Dooley struggled with her weight for years while battling diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. “My blood work numbers were off the charts and not in a good way,” Dooley, who is the scanning coordinator at ShopRite of Hoboken, said in a statement. “I am thrilled to say that all has changed. West Milford Constructs New Library WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- Construction on the new West Milford Township Library is now underway. The steel skeleton of the new library that will provide approximately 11,000 additional square feet than the current building. Construction began in earnest in October of last year and crews hope to have the structure completed by early November. Officials hope to transition into the new building in early 2017.

Hawthorne Mayor: $21 Million Budget Has No Surprises HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- Hawthorne's $21 million spending plan will constitute a $42 bump in tax payments for the average property owner, according to NorthJersey.com. Causes for the increase come largely from the increase in price for services like garbage and recycling, funding pensions for police and firefighters and a reduction of the borough's taxable real estate value. Wayne Announces Locations And Dates For Repaving Projects WAYNE, N.J. -- Wayne officials have released the locations for repaving projects throughout the township. Roads will typically remain open to local traffic during milling and other preparation work, but will close when paving begins. They are expected to re-open by 6 p.m. on the day of paving.
