Student From Fordham Prep Second To Be Killed By Train In Last Month The teenager who appears to have jumped in front of a Metro-North train in the Bronx is the second Fordham Prep student to die this way in less than a month. The incident occurred at roughly 3:30 p.m. and created travel backups in excess of an hour well into the evening commute.  Authorities believe the most recent incident is a suicide, the New York Daily News said.  Another Fordham Prep student, and Sleepy Hollow resident, jumped in front of a Metro-North train on Jan. 18 at the Philipse Manor Train Station. Wayne Staff Teach Students About 'Makerspace' WAYNE, N.J. -- Students at Schuyler-Colfax Middle School in Wayne got a lesson on the concept of "MakerSpace" recently.The format of the lesson included opportunities for hands­-on learning and working together in groups. Students, through the use of diagrams and inquiry learned the seven most important internal parts of a desktop computer as well as the names of the ports and their functions. Students were charged with naming the parts with post-­its within a time frame and figuring out how to create a new case for the computers completely out of Legos.

Tricky Tray, Raffle Aids Fair Lawn Girl In Need Of New Mobility Van FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- A fundraiser to help buy a mobility van for Fair Lawn's Makayla Visbal will be held at the Untouchables Clubhouse on Saturday, Feb. 6. The fundraiser will feature a 50/50 raffle, tricky tray and food from the Empanada Lady.  Visbal was diagnosed with microcephaly (smallness of the head) and cerebral palsy at a young age. She now needs a vehicle that will accommodate her wheel chair.  Admission is $10 at the door.  The fundraiser will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The Untouchables Clubhouse is located at 216 Hergesell Ave.
