Carlstadt PTA Seeks Volunteers, Donations For 'Trunk or Treat' CARLSTADT, N.J. -- The Carlstadt PTA will host its fourth annual "Trunk or Treat" Halloween celebration on Friday, Oct. 30.  The PTA is seeking volunteers to donate candy and help pass it out from decorated cars in the CPS School parking lot. Volunteers are also needed to help run the cotton candy and popcorn stands.  Volunteers must register his or her car by emailing: stephanie_Shockley@mac.com. The event will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lower parking lot of CPS School.

Acclaimed Harpist To Perform At Ramapo MAHWAH, N.J. — Noted harpist Merynda Adams will perform at Ramapo College on Wednesday, Oct. 7 as the Open Door Concert Series begins its fourth season. Adams has performed with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, New York Grand Opera, Northeastern Philharmonic, Westfield Symphony, Lake Placid Symphonietta and off Broadway in "The Fantasticks." She is a 1994 winner of the Artists International Competition and the Goldblatt Award. The performance will be held in the York room of the Birch Mansion at 7 p.m.

Bergen County Sheriff Holds Carseat Fitting And Inspections Oct. 6 BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. -- The Bergen County Sheriff's Office will host a car seat fitting and inspection station on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the Sheriff's Office in Paramus.  Bergen County officials held the first fitting and inspection station on Sept. 15 and discovered 80 percent of the seats already installed were done so improperly.  The inspection and installation station will be open every Tuesday in October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Email ChildCarSeat@bcsd.us to schedule an appointment.  The Bergen County Sheriff's Office is located at 327 East Ridgewood Avenue.
