Elmwood Park Celebrates Centennial With Spring And Summer Events ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Elmwood Park will celebrate its centennial with several events throughout the spring and summer.  A soap box derby will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 16th Avenue School. Registration opens at 10 a.m.  A golf outing will be held at Preakness Valley Golf Course on Saturday, May 14. Deadline to register is Friday, April 1. Teaneck Library Adds World War II Uniforms To History Display TEANECK, N.J. -- The Teaneck Library has added several World War II uniform jackets to its permanent display.The family of Dr. Charles Lester Ringer, Jr. donated the uniforms.  Ringer served during World War II and was seriously injured in a C-47 plane crash in Alaska. Following his service, he resided in Teaneck andworked as a medical doctor.  Ringer passed away in 2000 and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.  The Teaneck Library is located at 840 Teaneck Rd.
