Darien’s Bulk Pick-Up To Continue This Spring DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Department of Public Works will continue its bulk pick-up program again this year on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning on April 5, according to the Darien Times. By appointment only, each residence is restricted to a single pick-up each year. Items are limited to those that are too large to carry in a passenger car or SUV including mattresses, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc., said the Darien Times. Parolee From Newburgh Flees Sheriff's Deputy NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- A Newburgh man attempted to flee from Orange County Sheriff’s deputies after they attempted to stop him for traffic violations on route 211 in the Town of Wallkill. Dylan Kratzert, 23, who is currently on parole, sped away in his vehicle to elude the deputies. Kratzert lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail on Stone Ridge Road.
