Central Park Zoo Theater Presents Wildlife Program At Westport Library
WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Central Park Zoo Wildlife Theater will present a program on the differences and similarities of the two ends of the world—the Arctic Circle and Antarctica—on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Westport Public Library. Titled “Polar Opposites,” the program will explore these two places on Earth, which look and feel the same but have very different animals. Valhalla Vikings Win By One Point, Meet Basketball Alum
VALHALLA, N.Y. -- It was a special night for the Valhalla High School boys varsity and junior varsity basketball players on Friday, Jan. 22. Not only did they beat Pleasantville High School, but they were also visited by members of the Valhalla basketball teams from the 1970s and 1980s. Near the end of the intense game against Pleasantville, the Valhalla team trailed by one point - 49-48. With two seconds left, 10th-grader Orlando Clarke scored a buzzer beater to win the game 50-49. NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Taz Kim, New Rochelle High School cellist and former ALMS student musician, won the honor of performing a movement of the Cello Concerto No. 9 in B Flat Major, G. 482 by Luigi Boccherini at Carnegie Hall on Friday night.
