Pet Adoption Through Putnam Humane Society Gives Cat A New Lease On Life
CARMEL, N.Y. -- Thank goodness for nine lives.Nia, a cat who came to the Putnam Humane Society as a "tiny, fragile kitten" with an inoperable hole in her heart, would not lay down and give up.
Instead, the kitten, described as a "fighter," hung in there and recovered enough to be adopted on Aug. 5, 2015, according to the Humane Society.
Today, the once-skinny, special needs kitten, is a flourishing cat who is taller than the dogs living in her home, according to the Humane Society, which thanked Nia's owner, Amee, for stepping up to provide a good home.
