Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Hot, Humid Pattern Will Lead Into New Rounds Of Scattered Storms: 5-Day Forecast A days-long pattern that brought afternoon and evening storms throughout the region will finally end before the start of a new unsettled stretch, according to the National Weather Service. Fatal DWI Crash: 23-Year-Old Huntington Station Resident ID'd As Victim In West Hills A man has been accused of driving drunk after a fatal crash in a residential Long Island neighborhood. The crash happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 4 in West Hills. A Huntington Station man was driving a 2017 Honda Accord northbound on Sweet Hollow Road, south of Chichester Road, when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a 2010 Toyota Prius head-on, Suffolk County Police said. Shark Attack: July 4th Beachgoer Hospitalized After New Incident On Long Island A second shark attack has been reported in as many days on Long Island, with the latest incident coming on Tuesday afternoon, July 4. It happened around 1:50 p.m. on Independence Day in Suffolk County in the Village of Quogue (marked in red in the image above). According to Lt. Daniel Hartman of the Quogue Police Department, a beachgoer, identified as a 47-year-old man, was swimming in chest deep water at the Quogue Village Beach on Dune Road when he suffered lacerations to his right knee. Man Dies Days After Being Found Injured At Greenport Residence Police are investigating the death of a man days after he was found injured at a residence on Long Island. Southold Town Police responded to the Lakeside Garden Apartments in Greenport, located at 301 North St., at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Friday, June 30 after Modesto Salguero-Guillen, age 48, was found seriously injured. Roof Ripped Off High School In Hudson Valley During Round Of Severe Storms The roof of a high school building in the Hudson Valley was peeled off during a round of severe storms. The incident happened in Orange County when the storms swept through late Monday afternoon, July 3. The building affected in the village of Chester was the old Chester High School on Maple Avenue, which is currently used for BOCES classes. Christmas Tree Shops Now Plans To Close All Its Stores Christmas Tree Shops plans on closing all of its remaining stores after earlier this year announcing the closure of nearly a dozen of its locations, according to a new report. The 53-year-old discount home-goods chain offers seasonal decor year-round, along with assorted gifts, kitchen items, and furniture. Severe Thunderstorms Sweeping Through From West To East: Here's Latest Thunderstorms, some of which are severe, are moving through the region late Monday afternoon, June 3. Storm activity is expected to continue into about the middle of the evening.
