Annie is a proud alumna of Purdue University, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Anthropology. She began her journalism career in front of a camera, reporting news across the Midwest.

Annie’s passion for journalism began back in high school during her time in Youth In Government, where she served as as reporter and press editor for several years. She is proud to have pursued her childhood dream of becoming a journalist. From breaking news to archery on horseback to hanging out with kangaroos, Annie is grateful to share the stories and events of those around her.

In her free time, Annie enjoys showing her horses and watching sports. The only granddaughter of Indiana Pacer’s founder Chuck DeVoe and stepdaughter of Purdue Men’s Basketball Announcer and former player Ralph Taylor, Annie’s love for Indiana basketball runs deep.

A US history buff, Annie is proud to provide news to the Capitol region.

Woman Shot In VSU Dorm Days Before Graduation A woman was shot at a freshman residence hall at Virginia State University's Petersburg campus Sunday, May 1, ABC News 8 reports. Police responded to a call for a shooting at Quad 1 on Lee Street at 7:50 pm on May, 1, where they discovered an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound, according to both Chesterfield and University Police. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries, and the campus was placed on lockdown. The University has confirmed that the victim is not a student at the university, as reported by CBS News 6.

JMU Cancels Softball Season After Death Of Player Lauren Bernett James Madison University has cancelled the remainder its softball season following the death of Lauren Bernett. The sophomore catcher, 20, died on Monday, April 25. A native of McDonald, Penn., Lauren Bernett was a key player in leading James Madison University to their first-ever run to the Women's World Series last year. VA College Swimmer Paralyzed In Diving Accident A college swimmer in Virginia was left partially paralyzed after a diving accident in Alabama. Devin Bateman, of Fredericksburg, was just beginning his vacation on the Gulf Shores when he decided to go out for a swim Easter Sunday, according to a GoFundMe launched for his family. Sending Unwanted Nudes Will Cost You $500 In Virginia Sending unsolicited nude images will officially be illegal in Virginia. "Cyber-flashing" is the practice of sending nude images to a receiver without their explicit consent, and violators come July 1 be fined $500 plus additional legal fees.
