Critically-Injured Man Found Pinned Under Vehicle Along Hudson Valley Roadway A severely injured man who was pinned underneath his motorcycle for an extended amount of time along a Hudson Valley road was saved when a police officer noticed him just in time. The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, June 4 just before 2 a.m., when a Carmel police officer was patrolling in the area of Route 6N and Clark Place and noticed a faint red and orange light coming from the shoulder of the road, which was wooded. Fire Threatens Animals At Nature Preserve In Ossining A late-day blaze at a nature reservation in Northern Westchester posed a threat to several animals housed in the building before it was put out. The fire happened during the evening of Wednesday, June 7 at the Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. An original report of smoke in the building led to crews responding to a building on the reservation. Drunk Driver Hits Car, Then Crashes While Fleeing In Yorktown: Police A drunk driver was hit with several charges after allegedly striking another vehicle in Northern Westchester and then crashing his own car while fleeing the scene as officers closed in, police said. The incident happened on Saturday, June 3 around 9 p.m., when Yorktown Police received a report that a vehicle had hit another car on Route 202 and driven away. Free Bus Rides: Here's When Westchester Will Suspend Bee-Line Fares As the dog days of summer draw closer, Westchester officials have announced that the county's Bee-Line bus system will be offering free rides for several months. Fire At New York Medical College Housing In Valhalla Displaces Students A college housing apartment in Northern Westchester was heavily damaged after a fire tore through it, adding smoke to already hazy skies caused by Canadian wildfires.
