Blaze Completely Engulfs Car In Briarcliff Manor: Photos Thanks to firefighters, a blaze that engulfed a vehicle in Northern Westchester was quickly put out before anyone could get hurt.  The fire happened in Briarcliff Manor on Saturday morning, Feb. 24, when a car went up in flames next to a building in the village, according to the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department.  Crews from the department soon arrived and made quick work of the blaze.  No injuries were reported, firefighters said. More information about the fire, including the cause, was not released.

Resident Hospitalized After Blaze At Port Chester Apartment Building One person was hospitalized following a fire that broke out at an apartment building in Westchester.  The blaze began on Sunday, Feb. 25 around 6 p.m., when smoke was reported to be coming from an apartment building in Port Chester at 167 Terrace Ave., according to the village's fire department.  Arriving crews soon found flames coming from the side of the building and forced their way into the structure. 2-Car Crash Causes Fluid Spill On Busy Hudson Valley Road A two-car crash in the Hudson Valley caused a temporary closure on a busy road to allow crews to clean a fluid spill.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Feb. 23 just before 8 p.m., when two cars collided on Croton Falls Road in Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. Luckily, no injuries resulted from the collision, fire officials said. The crash caused the road to close for around 30 minutes to allow crews to clean up vehicle fluids and remove the cars.

Schools Searched In Hudson Valley After Accidental Alarm Activation: Police Several school buildings in the Hudson Valley were searched following the accidental activation of an alarm, police said.
