Police ID Woman Shot Dead In NJ Home, Suspect In Custody: Prosecutor A 37-year-old woman was fatally shot in an Essex County home over the weekend, and a suspected gunman was in custody. Police were called to a home on the 100 block of Meacham Street in Belleville around 10:25 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Belleville Police Chief Mark Minichini said. Mass Casualty: No Victims Cooperating In Jersey City Incident, Police Say Five people were shot early Sunday, Oct. 1 in Jersey City, and none were cooperating with the investigation, authorities said. Police ID Body Found In Tent At Virginia Campsite, Person Of Interest Sought: Cops Authorities in Fairfax County are looking for a man wanted in connection with the discovery of a woman's body Rami El Sayed was identified as a person of interest after 40-year-old Cara Abbruscato was found dead in a makeshift tent at Burke Lake Park on Ox Road on Saturday, Sept. 30, county police said. Pespas, 55, of Phillipsburg, was last seen in the Easton, PA area around 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, according to directors Sam Lipman-Stern and Adam Bhala Lough Pespas, formerly of North Plainfield and Plainfield, teamed up with Lipman-Stern to create the three-part HBO mini docu-series "Telemarketers," which shined a light on the truth about the telemarketing industry. Woman Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train A woman was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train this weekend in Union County, officials said. The unidentified woman was near the North Elizabeth station when she was struck by train No. 7844 at approximately 4 p.m., a spokesperson for NJ Transit said. The train had left Trenton just before 3 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at NY Penn Station that evening. None of the passengers or crew members were injured. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.

$1M Powerball Ticket Sold In Pennsylvania A Powerball ticket good for $1 million was sold this weekend in Pennsylvania. The ticket from the Saturday, Sept. 30 drawing was a Match 5 winner, the Powerball website shows. The winning numbers were 19, 30, 37, 44, and 46. The red Powerball drawn was 22. It was not immediately clear where the ticket was sold.

Two Dead In Union Township Fire: Report Two people died in an early-morning Union Township house fire, according to various news reports. The blaze broke out on the 900 block of Grandview Avenue, causing a collapse of the roof and second floor of the home, abc7 reports. Death Investigation Under Way: Northampton Double Shooting Killed Man, Injured Woman A 51-year-old Pennsylvania woman was injured and a 53-year-old man killed by a gunshot wound in Northampton County Saturday, Sept. 30, police said.
