They Had FOMO So They Had Kids — Now, They Regret It: Rutgers Study FOMO: It's the fear of missing out and exactly what a group of now-regretful parents say pushed them to have children, a study by Rutgers University has found. The study found that one in every 14 parents in the United States, or about 7 percent, say they wouldn’t have children if they could do it over again, according to the study.
