A Fredericksburg woman has found herself behind bars after lighting a t-shirt on fire and shoving it through her neighbor's front door mail slot, police said. The homeowner on the 1200 block of Caroline Street smelled smoke and found the fiery t-shirt around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, Fredericksburg police said. The resident put out the fire and called the E-911 Communications Center to report the arson. The Fredericksburg Fire Department and Fredericksburg police responded to investigate. A 33-year-old suspected gunman was all smiles after he surrendered to authorities in a double weekend shooting that left one man dead and another wounded, police in Prince William County said. Daniel Christopher Shannon, of Fredericksburg, had been sought for the shooting that transpired during an argument in a Dumfries home on Friday, June 23, Prince William County police said. A 26-year-old Virginia man was being held without bond for assaulting a police officer and drug possession, authorities said. Police responding to the Wawa at 10691 Davidson Pl. in Manassas on reports of a trespasser found Hisham Anthony Chidiac, of Gainesville, around 11:20 a.m. on Monday, June 26, Prince William County police said. Talk about udder chaos. A cow who showed up at one Virginia resident's doorstep got a special escort home from police. A resident on the 1900 block of Poplar Road first found Pumpkin the cow in her backyard around 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Overdose Leaves One Child Dead, Another Hospitalized In Fairfax County: Police
One juvenile was dead and another hospitalized after both overdosed over the weekend in Fairfax County, authorities said. The juveniles were found unconscious and foaming a the mouth inside of a car on the 5700 block of Columbia Pike in Falls Church on Sunday, June 25 around 7:20 p.m., county police said. Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures by administering multiple doses of Narcan and performing CPR.
