Norwalk Firefighters Snuff Out Garage Fire NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk firefighters extinguished a one-alarm fire in a detached garage on Tuesday night, according to officials.  The blaze was reported on Point Road just after 10:30 p.m. It took responders around 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, NBC Connecticut reported.  Two cars, a golf cart and other personal belongings were destroyed. Look Both Ways: Ridgewood Hires Crossing Guard Service RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The Village of Ridgewood has hired an outside service to assist the police department with school crossings this year.  All City Management Services (ACMS) while the Police Department works on keeping the routes to school safe.  ACMS supports over 4,200 crossing guards in 14 states across the nation. Ridgewood is the first community in New Jersey to use the service.
