Overnight Milling, Repaving Underway On Routes 25/111 In Trumbull TRUMBULL, Conn.  – Overnight milling and repaving on Routes 25 and 111 will cause lane closures through June 6.  Milling of both roads will continue through Friday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 111 (Main St.) from .05 mile north of Whitney Avenue to .01 mile south of Pequonnock River and on Route 25 (Main St.) from Route 111 (Monroe Turnpike) to .12 south of Monroe Town Line. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Tuesday, May 30, through Tuesday, June 6. No work will take place over Memorial Day Weekend.

Online Petition Launched To Block Marijuana Dispensaries In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. – A group named Concerned Parents of Westport is looking to block a proposal that would allow medical marijuana dispensaries to set up shop in Westport.  The measure has been delayed five times so far, but the Planning and Zoning Commission is set to vote on it on Thursday. Fairfield Officially Welcomes New Fire School FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield Regional Fire School opened officially on May 17.  Bridgeport fire officials, were on hand to tour the new facility and commemorate the occasion.  The new school is one of eight in the state and was built for $11.8 million. Features include classrooms, a three-bay apparatus building, pads for propane fire training and a large building and tower for active fire training. The school will also be available to fire teams throughout the region from Rhode Island to New Jersey.

New Chick-Fil-A Opens In Teterboro TETERBORO, N.J. – A new Chick-Fil-A held its grand opening in Teterboro on Thursday.  The store, located at 19 Teterboro Landing, features an outdoor patio and views of the Teterboro Airport and New York City skyline in the distance.  The Store does not yet have drive-thru capacity, but a makeshift station was set up on opening day. Nearly 80 cars took advantage.  As part of its grand opening celebration Chick-Fil-A held a scavenger hunt that donated 805 children's books to the Hasbrouck Heights Library. Winners received a free chicken sandwich each week for a year.
