Stratford's Petruccelli Announces Run For Mayor STRATFORD, Conn. -- Longtime Stratford Board of Education member Len Petruccelli announced he will run for mayor on Saturday, according to CT Post.  Petruccelli joins a Democratic field that also includes Stephanie Philips, the chairwoman of the DTC, and Zoning Commission Member Joe Paul. The three will likely square off in a primary on Sept. 12, CT Post reported.  Incumbent Republican Mayor John Harkins said he won't seek re-election. Crews Rescue 3 From Norwalk Harbor After Boats Overturn NORWALK, Conn. -- Rescue crews pulled three people from Norwalk Harbor on Thursday after their small vessels overturned, according to The Hour.  The 18-foot canoe and the 8-foot sailing dinghy overturned at approximately 11:50 a.m. near Peach Island. Fire officials believe the boaters likely ran into trouble with the incoming flood tide coupled with 10-to 15 knot winds, The Hour reported.  The three were brought back to shore and sent home to take warm showers, The Hour said.  Click here to read The Hour article.

Greenwich Water Supply Improving, But Still Below Average GREENWICH, Conn. -- Water levels in the Greenwich Reservoir System are improving, but remain lower than where they should be for this time of year, according to government officials.  Reservoir levels were at 73 percent at the end of February while average is closer to 88 percent. As a result, the board of selectmen adopted new water restrictions for businesses and residents.  Golf courses are banned from watering fairways but are allowed to water tees and greens. State To Replace Signs On Merritt Parkway From Greenwich To Stratford FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- State officials are developing plans to replace signage on the Merritt Parkway between Greenwich and Milford.  All overhead, side-mounted, post-mounted and variable message signs are slated to be replaced. This includes ramp signing. New design plans are expected to be available in June. Drivers Beware: Work Begins On Overpasses Along Merritt In Westport FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Work to repair roads and overpasses along the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield and Westport are underway and could trigger overnight road closures.  Work will consist of rehabilitation and safety improvements from the Congress Street Overpass to the Newtown Turnpike Overpass. Northbound lane closures are to be expected from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Saturday to Wednesday and from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Thursday and Friday.  Southbound lane closures will be from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday; and 8 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
