Brophy was born in Garnerville to John and Marion Brennan on Aug. 19, 1925. She was a graduate of Haverstraw High School was an executive secretary for the Fellowship of Reconciliation in Upper Nyack. Attending the meetings allowed the 51-year-old Democrat to take interest in a wider array of community issues.  Packer defeated incumbent John van Keuren and took office last year. Now the resident of over 20 years is focused on overseeing the Glen Rock Arboretum project as well as helping to revitalize the downtown area.

Seen Him? Dog Missing In Hyde Park HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Hyde Park Police are asking for help finding a dog that has been missing since Thursday night. The dog is female and was las seen in the area of Sherwood and Wagon Wheel in the Greenfields Development.  The dog is a recent rescue. She's friendly and not aggressive but can be very skittish.  Residents are asked to check under vehicles, decks and porches.  Residents who see the dog are asked to not approach or chase her.
