Duo Wanted For 'Distraction Theft' At Long Island Convenience Store Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two women seen on surveillance footage stealing from a Long Island 7-Eleven store. The theft occurred at around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, in Valley Stream, at the 7-Eleven store on North Central Avenue, according to Nassau County Police. Investigators said the women approached the cashier and asked them to load four prepaid Visa gift cards with $500 each, totaling $2,000. Driver Nabbed After Miles-Long Police Chase On Thruway A 31-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly leading State Police on a miles long chase on the Thruway on New Year’s Day. Troopers in Greene County initially tried to stop Manuel Diaz, of the Bronx, for a vehicle and traffic violation at around 7:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, as he drove on I-87 in the town of Catskill. Man Accused In New Year's Day Stabbing Of Woman Inside Capital Region Home A woman is recovering after being stabbed inside a home in the region on New Year’s Day. Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called at around 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, with reports that a person had been stabbed inside a Saratoga Springs apartment building, located on Seward Street.
