Capital Region Man Charged In Fatal Crash In Rensselaer County A Capital District man is accused of causing a DWI crash that left a man dead. Rensselaer County resident Dylan Densmore, age 26, of Poestenkill, was arrested Thursday, April 21, following the wreck on Highway 355 in Poestenkill, according to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 10:40 p.m. and found Densmore outside of his GMC pickup truck, along with a second man who was trapped inside his Honda Civic, police said. 16-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Murder After Stabbing In Capital Region A 16-year-old boy is facing attempted murder charges following a stabbing attack in Schenectady’s Central Park. The teen was arrested Wednesday, April 13, nearly a month after a 30-year-old Selkirk man was found sitting on a park bench suffering from multiple stab wounds, Schenectady police said. The victim was attacked at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8 near the Rose Garden. He was treated by medics and taken to Albany Medical Center. His condition has not been released. Husband, Wife Rescued From Burning Long Island Home A Long Island couple had to be rescued after an early morning house fire in Huntington overnight. Emergency crews were called to the home on Penfield Drive in East Northport just after 3 a.m. Friday, April 22, Suffolk County police said. When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. CNN To Shut Down Streaming Service One Month After Debut Just a month after its debut, CNN is shutting down its streaming service, CNN+, according to CNN Business. Subscribers have until Saturday, April 30 to watch programming, at which point CNN+ will cease to exist, the outlet reported. Missing 3-Year-Old Found Dead In Capital Region A Rensselaer County family is grieving the loss of their 3-year-old child after he was found dead in a swimming pool. The boy was reported missing Sunday, April 17, from a house on Oakhurst Street in Pleasantdale, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. After an extensive search that included more than 100 volunteers, the boy was eventually found unresponsive in a pool on the property where he lived. NY Doctor Charged For $1.3 Million Fraud Scheme A New York doctor is accused of defrauding Medicare and Medicaid of over $1.3 million. Federal prosecutors allege that Dr. Perry Frankel, age 64, of Roslyn, in Nassau County, submitted false billing claims to Medicare and Medicaid for office visits that were never performed for patients who received COVID-19 tests. Long Island Man Accused Of Throwing Bricks, Spraying Chemical At Workers A Long Island man is facing criminal charges after allegedly attacking a team of sanitation workers in Oyster Bay. Daniel Cooney, age 59, of Massapequa Park, was arrested Tuesday, April 19 after he reportedly threw two bricks at the windshield of an Oyster Bay garbage truck on Atlantic Avenue, causing it to shatter, police said. Man Arrested For Assault, Criminal Mischief In Area A man is facing criminal charges for allegedly assaulting someone at his home in the area. Greene County resident Keith A. Smith, age 41, of Greenville, was arrested Friday, April 15, after state police responded to a verbal altercation call at his home on Hill Street. Stratford Man Involved In Car Theft Ring Sentenced To Prison A Fairfield County man is heading to federal prison for his role in an auto theft ring that targeted wealthy neighborhoods. Stratford resident Edwin Cordero, age 21, was sentenced Monday, April 18 to 30 months behind bars by US District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport.
