Downed Pole, Wires On Route 12 Leave Hundreds Without Power In Flemington A pole is down on Route 12 in Hunterdon County on Friday, Aug. 9, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. The downed pole and wires are down on Route 12 in both directions in Flemington at Reaville Avenue and Main Street, NJDOT said. One right lane is closed, NJDOT said. Nearly 200 JCP&L customers were without power, according to the outage map. Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc throughout the state, causing downed trees and power outages.

Drunk Driver Possessed Machete: Byram Township Police A Brooklyn man with a machete was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Sunday, July 28 in Byram Township, authorities said. Officers observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and driving on the shoulder on Route 206 South, Byram Township police said. Vehicle Crashes Into Pole After Driver Suffers Medical Emergency: Newark PD A man was hospitalized after he experienced a medical emergency while driving and crashed into a pole in Newark on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 8, authorities said. At 11:10 a.m., police responded to a vehicle colliding with a pole at Lyons Avenue and Hobson Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man driving the vehicle had a medical emergency and he was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation, Fragé said. No other injuries have been reported and the crash remains under investigation, Fragé said.
