Bergenfield Updates Parking Laws BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Bergen officials have tweaked overnight parking laws to accommodate a new automated system for curbside trash pickup, according to NorthJersey.com. Fort Lee Taxes To Increase By $82 FORT LEE, N.J. -- Fort Lee residents could see municipal taxes rise by an average of $82 under a proposed spending plan, according to NorthJersey.com. The expected hike comes just one year after taxes fell for the first time in nearly 25 years, NorthJersey.com said. Northern Valley School District Looks To Improve Virtual School Days DEMAREST, N.J. -- Northern Valley Regional High School officials are looking for ways to improve its virtual school day program, according to NorthJersey.com. Saddle Brook Athlete Earns Unico's Brian Piccolo Award SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Saddle Brook resident Taryn Digiacomo was awarded the Brian Piccolo Award by the Italian American Service Organization, UNICO on Tuesday, April 5.The award is given to a student who has faced adversity while excelling on the athletic field. Piccolo was a professional football player for the Chicago Bears. His story was depicted in the movie "Brian's Song" starring James Caan.

Scattered Showers Kick Off Week In Fairfield FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Scattered showers will make for a soggy start to the work-week in Fairfield County, but sunny skies will return and bring spring-like temperatures with it. Scattered showers and sprinkles will continue throughout Monday with a high of 53 degrees. Showers will persist in the morning on Tuesday with temperatures reaching the mid-50s. Sewage Discharge Reported In Millbrook MILLBROOK, N.Y. -- The Village of Millbrook reported a sewage discharge due to a main blockage on Sadie Lane on Sunday morning. Sewage was overflowed into a storm drain at a rate of approximately two gallons per minute. Some of the sewage may have discharged into the east branch of Wappinger Creek. Officials have pumped out and cleaned the manhole.
