Frisch Students Participate In Math Tournament At Yale PARAMUS, N.J. -- Several Frisch students spent a long Shabbat weekend at Yale University to participate in the Math Majors of America Tournament for High Schools annual competition. The exam was given on a Saturday but thanks to the efforts of a couple of enterprising Yale students, observant day school students were able to take the exam on Sunday.  In the first round of the competition, students worked individually and had 75 minutes to answer twelve questions. Leonia Mayor: Borough In 'Death Spiral' LEONIA, N.J. -- Leonia Mayor Judah Zeigler said the borough is in a financial "Death Spiral" due to falling taxable property valuations, tax appeals and out of control costs during a recent town hall meeting, according to NorthJersey.com. The borough lost $250 million in taxable real estate value and another $1.61 million in tax appeals and tax refunds, NorthJersey.com reported.  The mayor said officials must find ways to increase the tax base and search for other revenue streams to help make up for the loss, NorthJersey.com said.  Click here to read the NorthJersey.com article.

Bogota PTO Refurbishes Student Garden BOGOTA, N.J. -- Members of the Steen School PTO helped organize a clean up of the student garden on Saturday, April 2, according to Bogota Blog NJ. Old planting beds were broken down and replaced and some annuals were replanted along the main walkway.  A new evergreen tree was also planted near the steps to the building on the east side, Bogota Blog NJ reported.  Click here to read the Bogota Blog NJ article.
