Leonia Mayor: Borough In 'Death Spiral' LEONIA, N.J. -- Leonia Mayor Judah Zeigler said the borough is in a financial "Death Spiral" due to falling taxable property valuations, tax appeals and out of control costs during a recent town hall meeting, according to NorthJersey.com. The borough lost $250 million in taxable real estate value and another $1.61 million in tax appeals and tax refunds, NorthJersey.com reported.  The mayor said officials must find ways to increase the tax base and search for other revenue streams to help make up for the loss, NorthJersey.com said.  Click here to read the NorthJersey.com article.
