New City Man Charged With Possession Of Controlled Substance In Nyack ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police charged a New City man with criminal possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop on Friday, Dec. 4, officials said.  Leon Raad, 27, was pulled over on Main Street in Nyack and allegedly possessed an unidentified controlled substance, police said.  Raad was arrested, released, and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 12, 2016, police said.

Dutchess County Courts Sentence Man To 10 Years For Criminal Sex Act DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Dutchess County Courts sentenced a Plattekill man to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for committing a criminal sex act, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.Rahsaan Perry, 34, pleaded guilty to the charges in October. Suffern Officer Saves Choking Child SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A Suffern Police Officer helped save the life of a 1-year-old child who was choking on Sunday, according to LoHud.com. Officer Mike Careswell responded to a 911 call at the Riverside Drive home and found the boy's breathing distressed after swallowing a sticker.
