Mason Struck, Killed By His Own Van In Greenburgh GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A Yonkers mason was struck and killed by his own van in Greenburgh on Wednesday, according to Greenburgh Police. Hopeton Samuels, 70, was working in the area of 14 Teramar Way, police said.  A witness observed the van rolling down the hill and strike a retaining wall in front of 15 Teramar Way, according to police.  According to the Medical Examiner’s office, the victim had extensive injuries to his back and shoulder area.

Mount Vernon Summer Day Camps Set To Kick Off MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Mount Vernon's summer day camps will begin on Monday, July 6 at 9 a.m.  Camps run for six weeks and will include a wide variety of outdoor activities for children. Architect Selected For Bedford Playhouse BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Dobbs Ferry's Stephen Tilly Architect was chosen to lead the renovation efforts at the Bedford Playhouse, according to the Westchester County Business Journal. Renovations, which are expected to begin this summer, will include building a 280-seat main theater, as well as a secondary, 90-seat theater for a more intimate feel, WCBJ reported.  The building was previously owned and operated by Bow Tie Cinemas, who closed the location in January.
