NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Surveillance camera footage showed a woman being attacked by a pigeon in the New Roc City parking garage in New Rochelle on April 30, according to a FiOS1 News report which included a video obtained from Talk of the Sound. The woman who was attacked tried to swing her purse at the angry bird before trying to escape to a more open space. Just In Time For Playland's Season Opening: Exit 19 Closed Overnight RYE, N.Y. -- The Thruway Authority has announced the closure of southbound Exit 19 in Rye from 10 p.m. on Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday, May 8 for pavement repairs. The ramp closure and subsequent repairs come just days before Rye Playland is scheduled to open for the season on Saturday.  During the closure, all traffic seeking to use exit 19 (Rye – Playland Parkway) will be detoured to exit 18B (White Plains – Mamaroneck Avenue) and brought back onto I-95 northbound from this location. Work is expected to be completed before Saturday, pending any delays.

Bicyclist Struck, Killed In Patterson By Impaired Carmel Driver, Cops Say PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A bicyclist was struck and killed by a driver who was allegedly impaired by drugs on Fair Street in Patterson on Tuesday, according to officials.  Ray Vanzo, 47, of Carmel allegedly drove his vehicle off the road at approximately 11:45 a.m., and struck Alan D.
