Former Cuomo Aide, Still On State Payroll, Report Says PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The New York Post is reporting that former Gov. Cuomo chief of staff and White Plains resident Lawrence Schwartz is still on the state payroll. Schwartz, who is under investigation by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara for political corruption, was to leave his position on Jan. 11 for the private sector.
