NTSB Expected To Issue Preliminary Report On Fatal Train Crash Soon PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The National Transportation Safety Board hopes to have a preliminary report on the Metro-North train wreck that killed six people in Valhalla in approximately two weeks, according to LoHud.com.  One of the areas the NTSB is investigating is the non-traditional third rail configuration. Funeral For Metro-North Crash Victim Robert Dirks Of New Castle Scheduled CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The funeral for Chappaqua resident Robert Dirks, who was killed in the Metro-North train accident in Valhalla on Feb.3, will be held on March 1.  Dirks worked as a research scientist for D. E. Shaw Research in New York City. He was 36 at the time of the crash.  The funeral will be held at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mount Kisco.  Dirks is survived by his wife, Christine, and two children, Owen and Phoebe; his parents Mike and Suree Dirks of Spokane, Wash.; and his brother, William Dirks of Portland, Ore.

Fairfield Loses Out On $564 Million Lottery FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Dreams of life on easy street passed Fairfield County residents by yet again after the $564.1 million Powerball Jackpot was won by three ticket-buyers in North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Texas on Wednesday night. The winning numbers were: 11-13-25-39-54, and the Powerball was 19.
