Clifton Library Hosts Two Showings Of 'Nutcracker' CLIFTON, N.J. -- The Clifton Public Library will host two showings of "The Nutcracker" on Monday, Dec. 14. The first showing will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Allwood branch. The second will be at 6:30 p.m. in the community room. Elks' Hoop Shoot Returns To New Milford For 44th Year NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- The New Milford Elks will host the 44th annual Hoop Shoot free throw contest on Saturday, Dec. 12 at David E. Owens Middle School. The contest is open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 13-years-old. Participants will be broken into three age groups with the 8-9 age group beginning at 9 a.m.; the 10-11 age group starting at 10 a.m.; and the 12-13 group starting at 11 a.m. Contestants should arrive 30 minutes early for registration. Bergen County Offers Rabies Vaccines To Dog, Cat Owners BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. -- Bergen County will be offering pet vaccinations for dogs and cats on Thursday, Dec. 17 at the Animal Shelter. Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be free. Distemper for dogs and cats are and Bordatella vaccinations for dogs only are $15. Owners are asked to bring documentation of previous vaccinations, if possible. Dogs must be on a secure leash and cats must be in carriers.
