Auto Accident In Ridgefield Leaves Boat Sitting In Middle Of Route 7
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A multi-car accident that closed Cains Hill Road in Ridgefield on Thursday for a couple of hours, left a 23-foot Boston Whaler sitting in the middle of Route 7, according to WLAD.com. The boat ended up in the roadway after the car that was towing it was involved in the accident that occurred when the driver of a northbound car turned left onto Cains Hill road, striking a southbound vehicle, said WLAD.com. Poughkeepsie Police Hunt For Shooter Of Local Man
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie police have not made an arrest in the July 8 shooting at Soldier's Fountain that left a 22-year-old man with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The victim, who has been shot before, told police he didn't know who shot at him, but police believe he was the intended target, said the Poughkeepsie Journal. Route 8 Project In Bridgeport Begins Friday; Lanes To Close
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — It's time for drivers to get ready for new lane configurations as Stage 2 of the Route 8 Crossover project begins at 7 p.m. Friday, with fluctuating lane closures of both northbound and southbound Route 8 for lane re-striping. By 8 a.m. Saturday, July 16, the Stage 2 configuration will be in effect with southbound traffic being switched to northbound lanes until July 30. The new configuration includes southbound lanes reduced to two lanes and northbound reduced to three lanes. Drivers should also expect intermittent closures of Lindley Street and Capitol Avenue. Shelton Man Pleads Guilty In Heroin Overdose Death
SHELTON, Conn. -- A Shelton man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to selling heroin that killed a Bridgeport woman, according to the Connecticut Post. Jorge Morales, 30, was charged with distributing heroin from April 2015 to April 2016, following the death of a 21-year-old woman in Bridgeport on April 15, who had bought the drug from Morales, said the Connecticut Post. A woman from Marlboro was charged with stealing more than $3,000 in cash from a home in Plattekill in Ulster County after being caught in the act on a surveillance video, according to the New York State Police.Lorrie Lent, 48, who was a house cleaner for the victim, was seen on video taking the cash from an envelope in the homeowner's bedroom.
