Davis Elementary School Accepts Author's Donation Of 1,000 Books NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- During a recent visit to Davis Elementary School, Nancy Paulsen, president and publisher of Nancy Paulsen Books, a division of Random House Young Readers Group, made a donation of 1,000 new books to The Davis Library Media Center in New Rochelle.The gift was made in memory of her daughter Molly Friend, a former Davis student, Hofstra University graduate, and teacher. Golden Eagles Breakfast Raises Funds For Ossining Food Pantry OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Golden Eagles, a group of involved and active seniors, recently hosted the 19th annual Charity Breakfast at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ossining to raise funds for the Ossining Food Pantry.Group members provided and prepared all of the food for the more than 65 people who attended the event in which $1,200 was raised through ticket sales and contributions. Manhattanville College Performers Become Stars At Disney World PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Manhattanville College students from Purchase entertained Walt Disney World Resort guests from across the nation and around the world with their recent performance at Disney Springs in Orlando, Fla. Explore Hunt-Parker Preserve On Lewisboro Land Trust's Spring Hike LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Nature and trail fans will want to take part in the upcoming spring hike sponsored by the Lewisboro Land Trust on Sunday, June 12 at the Hunt-Parker Preserve.Beginning at 10 a.m., attendees will have a chance to explore the seldom-hiked preserve with naturalist Jim Norden for a three-mile hike and discussion of the area. Suffern Officers Teach YMCA Students About Police Department SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Officers from the Suffern Police Department recently spent a morning with students from the Suffern YMCA Wise Beginnings program to teach them about the Police Department.
