Trumbull Man Allowed To Sue State Over Mishandled Divorce Case TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Trumbull man will be able to sue the state after receiving approval from the state House and Senate following a seven-year fight to do so, according to the Connecticut Post. Daniel Lynch was denied the right to sue the state in a case involving what he says was a mishandling of his right to recover damages from an attorney, the Post said. The case stemmed from Lynch's 2009 divorce proceeding in which he said the attorney, Stanley Goldstein, committed misconduct and missed deadline filings, said the Connecticut Post. Young Middle School in New Rochelle recently worked together to gather needed supplies to help victims affected by the devastating earthquake that recently hit Ecuador. The group made contributions of different items needed in the affected areas, including canned food, disposable diapers, dry beans, blankets, toiletries, along with monetary contributions.

Mount Vernon Foreclosure Auction Yields $2.4 Million MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A variety of 33 properties owned by Mount Vernon for nonpayment of taxes and other fees, raised more than $2.4 million at an auction, according to Lohud.com. The 33 properties in the May 4 auction, included churches, homes and vacant lots and will net city around $1 million after expenses, said Lohud.com. Stamford Bicyclist, 72, Hit By Car STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man is listed in critical condition after a being hit by a car while riding his bike this morning on Tresser Boulevard, according to NBC Connecticut. According to police, Abdul Aziz, 72, was in the crosswalk, approaching Edith Sherman Drive when he was hit by a person driving a 2004 Toyota Sienna, NBC Connecticut said. Expect Lane Closures On Route 108 In Shelton Through Wednesday SHELTON, Conn. -- Commuters can expect lane closures on Route 108 in Shelton due to a resurfacing project beginning Monday, May 9 and running through Wednesday, May 11, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.The project consists of resurfacing 1.26 miles. Motorists can expect lane closures from Pine Street to under a mile south of Meadow Street. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
