Man Will Stand Trial For Bridgeport Christmas Eve Murder Of Teen
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Michael “Smitty” Majors, who is accused of the murder in Bridgeport of a 14-year-old boy on Christmas Eve, will stand trail, according to the Connecticut Post.
Superior Court Judge Maria Kahn said during a hearing last week that the state will be allowed to try the case under both murder and murder under special circumstances, the Connecticut Post reported. According to police, the teen, Luis Colon, was caught in the crossfire and hit in the back by a stray bullet during a dispute between Majors, 23, and Garth Minto, 22, on State Street, said the Connecticut Post.

Bridgeport Street Named For Three-Year-Old Who Died In Fire
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport firefighters, city officials and others were on hand Sunday to rename French Town Road in honor of three-year-old Sincere Pettway, who perished in a fire on Jan. 3, according to the Connecticut Post.
The road will now be called Sincere Pettway Lane, the Connecticut Post reported. Pettway, who died from smoke inhalation during a fire at her condo, was found by firefighters on the second floor in thick smoke, said the Connecticut Post.

Primark To Open Location In June At Danbury Fair Mall
DANBURY, Conn. -- Good news fashion fans: European retailer Primark has announced that it will open a new location in the Danbury Fair mall in June, according to News-Times.
With more than 300 stores across the globe, Primark recently begun focusing on the U.S. market, especially in the Northeast. The Danbury location will be the company's third U.S. store, said News-Times.

PATTERSON, N.Y. -- The Patterson Rotary Club recently hosted its 20th annual Men Who Cook! to a sold-out crowd at the Starr Ridge Banquet & Conference Center to raise money for nonprofits, worthy organizations and scholarships in the tricounty area.
