Vista Firefighters' Spaghetti Dinner Marks Second Year
VISTA, N.Y. -- Dozens of hungry people lined up long before the doors opened for the Vista Fire Department's 2nd annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, April 16."Last year we had 180 people," said Auxiliary member Jeanine (Chip) Haberny, whose husband, Joe, was the head chef. "Joe and I got the idea for the dinner when we traveled upstate and saw so many signs for local firefighters' spaghetti dinners. This is only the second of many, I hope."

2 Arrested On Stolen Car, Crack Charges On I-84 In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. — State police arrested two people after a trooper received a hit on his license plate reader indicating the vehicle they were driving had been stolen. Police said the car was stopped with the assistance of the Danbury Police Department. The two suspects, Alexander Santopietro, 26, of Southbury, and Marissa Primiano, 31, of Katonah, N.Y., were taken into custody. A state police dog was used for a search and turned up two crack pipes, police said.

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Residents looking for affordable housing, need look no further than the Town of Cortlandt, where three units are available to eligible buyers, according to The Examiner News.
In Westchester County there are nine affordable housing unit available. The homes prices range from $138,000 to $235,000 and are available to families who earn up to 80 percent of the county median income limit which is $60,400 for a one-person household and $69,000 for a two-person household. U.S. Attorney Recovers $8.6 Billion In Numerous Cases
More than $8.6 billion in forfeiture actions, more than $3 billion in civil actions, and more than $1.3 billion from restitution, criminal fines, and special assessments, were collected between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2015, by his office Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York announced.
The amounts collected include criminal and civil forfeitures of nearly $3.44 billion for calendar year 2014 and more than $5.24 billion for 2015.
