Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Nigel Becomes Hurricane As 2 Other Areas In Atlantic Have Potential To Develop Tropical Storm Nigel has strengthened to become a hurricane and is among three areas in the Atlantic now being monitored by forecasters.Nigel, which had been a tropical depression, moved up to tropical storm status on Sunday morning, Sept. 17. On Monday night, Sept. 18, it became a Category 1 hurricane with sustained wind speeds of 85 miles per hour, an increase of 35 mph in less than 24 hours. Cases of the BA.2.86 strain, known as Pirola, have been confirmed in: Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington. Fatal Crash: Man Struck By SUV On Hempstead Turnpike In East Meadow One person was killed in an overnight crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened around 7:25 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 in East Meadow. According to Nassau County Police detectives, a 79-year-old man was crossing the roadway in front of 2520 Hempstead Turnpike, when he was struck by a 2017 Lincoln SUV being operated by a 78-year-old man.
