Annie is a proud alumna of Purdue University, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Anthropology. She began her journalism career in front of a camera, reporting news across the Midwest.

Annie’s passion for journalism began back in high school during her time in Youth In Government, where she served as as reporter and press editor for several years. She is proud to have pursued her childhood dream of becoming a journalist. From breaking news to archery on horseback to hanging out with kangaroos, Annie is grateful to share the stories and events of those around her.

In her free time, Annie enjoys showing her horses and watching sports. The only granddaughter of Indiana Pacer’s founder Chuck DeVoe and stepdaughter of Purdue Men’s Basketball Announcer and former player Ralph Taylor, Annie’s love for Indiana basketball runs deep.

A US history buff, Annie is proud to provide news to the Capitol region.

Arrest Made In Upper Marlboro Shooting: Sheriff A man accused of shooting at two people in District Heights last April was arrested this week on multiple assault-related charges in Upper Marlboro, authorities say. Derrell Marcel Brown allegedly shot at two victims who were able to flee the scene without injury on the 6800 block of Atwood Street on Friday, April 29, according to the Prince George's County Police. Baltimore Man Arrested On Murder Charge A Baltimore man who allegedly killed a man earlier this month, has been arrested on murder charges, authorities say.  Myron Watson, 35, is accused of shooting and killing Kennod Taylor, 39, after an argument on the 2900 block of East Preston Street on the night of Monday, May 9.  Watson was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility and was charged with first and second-degree murder, and multiple other assault-related charges.

Baltimore Motorcyclist, 33, Killed In Anne Arundel Crash A Baltimore motorcyclist was killed after being ejected from his bike in a multiple vehicle collision in Anne Arundel County Thursday, May 19, authorities said. Shane Tyler Rider, 31, was heading south on Richie Highway on his Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck a northbound Toyota Camry turning left in front of him onto Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, around 4:20 p.m., according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.  Rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger in the Toyota was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

Illegal Potomac River Swimmers Rescued After Near Drowning: Authorities Two swimmers clung to rocks in the Potomac River before being rescued by officials earlier this week, authorities say. The swimmers, who were a part of a group of young people, entered the water near Lambert beach, when a strong current swept them away and prevented them from swimming back to shore, says Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.  Swimming in the Potomac River is illegal and dangerous due to the strong currents and debris that lies beneath the surface of the deceptive water. Swimmers may be fined up to $200. Swift Water boats were able to retrieve both swimmers.
