An unauthorized tractor-trailer became stuck in the median on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway, blocking lanes, and causing hours-long gridlock. Late Night Blaze Engulfs Former Church In Yonkers A former church in Westchester was heavily damaged following a late-night blaze that prompted a major response from fire crews and road closures. The incident began on Tuesday, Dec. 12 around 3 a.m., when a fire broke out in the rectory of a former church in Yonkers on the corner of Buckingham Road and Lockwood Avenue, according to ABC News. Fairfield County resident Fred Gambino, Jr. of Brookfield, the former chief of the North Castle Police Department, died on Sunday, Dec. 3 at the age of 86, the department announced on Monday, Dec. 11. Kathy Hochul has announced that the state's minimum wage will be increasing when the new year begins.
