Alexandria Broad Daylight Shooting Victim Dies, Road Closed
The victim shot in broad daylight in Alexandria has died, authorities said. The incident happened on the 800 block of W Glebe Road around 12:30 p.m. The road has been closed to traffic in both directions. There is a significant police presence in the 800 block of W Glebe Road while officers investigate a shooting. Alexandria Native Neha DeKawar Dies In San Diego, 23
Alexandria native Neha DeKawar died in San Diego, CA on Saturday, July 8, her obituary says. She was 23 years old. Neha graduated from T.C. Williams High School with honors, and served as the captain of the field hockey and lacrosse teams, her obituary said. After earning her Bachelor's in marketing from the Fowler School of Business at San Diego University, Neha went on to work for Insight Global as a recruiter. VA Man ID'd As Victim Killed In I-78 Crash
A 22-year-old Virginia man was killed in a tractor-trailer crash on a Pennsylvania highway over the weekend, authorities said. Evan Dennison, of Berryville, was driving a vehicle that struck the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township, on Sunday, July 23, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. Dennison was pronounced dead at the scene, at 2:53 p.m. All westbound lanes were closed for several hours. Pennsylvania State Police were investigating.

Woman Sexually Assaulted By Man She Just Met At Fairfax County Marriott: Police
Police are hoping the public can help them identify a sexual assault suspect in Fairfax County. A woman told authorities that she was sexually assaulted by a man she just met at the Courtyard Marriott at 2722 Gallows Road in McLean, police said on Friday, July 21. Detectives found surveillance footage of the suspect, who is described as a black man, 6 feet tall, in his late 20s, with short hair and a slim build. Plane Crashes In Blairstown
A small plane made a crash landing in a Warren County field Sunday, July 23. The Federal Aviation Administration said only that the Schempp-Hirth Ventus glider landed in Blairstown, around 2 p.m. Only the pilot was on board, and his condition was unclear. The exact location of the crash was not disclosed. Blairstown police did not immediately return Daily Voice's information request.

Videos Capture Newark Housing Authority Building Explosion
Video footage captured the moment a building owned by the Newark Housing Authority exploded last week. Six people, including one with severe burns, were injured in the explosion at 39 S. Pine Lane on Friday, July 21, just after 6:05 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Newark Police Department said (scroll for videos). The explosion collapsed the building, leaving 31 people displaced. Services have been set for YNG Cheese, the 25-year-old Philadelphia rapper killed in a triple shooting last week. YNG Cheese, whose real name is Devin Spady and whose father is hip-hop artist Gillie Da King, formerly Gillie Da Kid, died when he was shot in the back on the 5800 block of Mascher Street in Olney, on Thursday, July 20, Philadelphia police said. Deadly Tractor-Trailer Crash Shuts Part Of I-78
A deadly crash involving a tractor-trailer closed parts of I-78 Sunday, July 23 in Lehigh County. The crash occurred on the westbound side near mile maker 47.6 in Upper Macungie Township around 1:30 p.m., according to the PennDOT website. A male was pronounced dead at the scene, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. All westbound lanes were closed as traffic was redirected. Pennsylvania State Police were investigating.
