Putnam Sheriffs Search For Man Wanted For Larceny, Drug Charges PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriffs Department is searching for a man who failed to appear in Carmel Court on charges of grand larceny, obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana charges, according to officials.  Alexander Cruz, 38, is a white male standing 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, officials said.  If anyone has any information as to Cruz’s whereabouts, contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department (845) 808-4357.

Yonkers Contractor Pleads Guilty In Tax Fraud Case YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers contractor pleaded guilty in a Manhattan federal court to two counts of tax fraud Tuesday, according to the Westchester County Business Journal.  Tariq Tahir, 66, failed to report nearly $2.2 million in sales between 2006 and 2007. He also reportedly paid his employees in cash in an effort to skirt employer taxes, WCBJ reported.  Tahir will be required to pay $771,000 in restitution to the IRS and an additional $112,000 to New York state.
