Putnam Sheriffs Search For Man Wanted For Larceny, Drug Charges PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriffs Department is searching for a man who failed to appear in Carmel Court on charges of grand larceny, obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana charges, according to officials.  Alexander Cruz, 38, is a white male standing 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing approximately 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, officials said.  If anyone has any information as to Cruz’s whereabouts, contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department (845) 808-4357.

Edward Guider, 91, Stamford Resident STAMFORD, Conn. -- Edward R. Guider, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died on Monday, March 2, at Stamford Hospital. Guider was born on Jan. 10, 1924 to the late Frank and Katherine Guider. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1941 and worked as a senior engineer for Southern New England Telephone Company. Guider served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth, and daughter, Deborah. Guider was predeceased his brother, Theodore. Visitation is at the Leo P. Yonkers Contractor Pleads Guilty In Tax Fraud Case YONKERS, N.Y. -- A Yonkers contractor pleaded guilty in a Manhattan federal court to two counts of tax fraud Tuesday, according to the Westchester County Business Journal.  Tariq Tahir, 66, failed to report nearly $2.2 million in sales between 2006 and 2007. He also reportedly paid his employees in cash in an effort to skirt employer taxes, WCBJ reported.  Tahir will be required to pay $771,000 in restitution to the IRS and an additional $112,000 to New York state. Samuel Campbell, 83, Bridgeport Resident BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Samuel A. Campbell, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, March 1. He was 83.  Campbell, the husband of Alice Fedak Campbell, was born and raised in Bridgeport. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps and was wounded in combat at Chosin Reservoir, Korea, and awarded the Purple Heart. Campbell later worked for the Universal Thread Co, Raybestos Corp. and Hertz Rental Car Co. until his retirement.
