Putnam Valley Woman Charged With Burglary PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Putnam Valley woman has been charged with burglary, according to the Putnam County Sheriffs Department.  Sheriffs responded to a call at 3 a.m. on Jan. 17 of a reported burglary on Hilltop Drive. Homeowners stated an unknown subject had entered their residence and attempted to steal property. One of the homeowners tried to confront the suspect and was bit and injured by the suspect, police said.  Later in the day, sheriffs responded to an unrelated domestic dispute call on the same street. Wilson 'Bill' Orts, 85, Ossining Resident OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining native Wilson "Bill" Orts, died on Wednesday, Feb. 18. He was 85. He was born on Oct. 26, 1929, in Ossining to Gertrude Harrigton. He also served as a sergeant in the Army from 1945-47. Orts spent his career as a tool and die maker for T&H Tooling. Orts was an avid fisherman and life member of the Hudson River Boating & Yachting Assoc and member of many boat clubs. Gladys Coles, 72, Bridgeport Resident BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Gladys Coles of Bridgeport, died on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was 72. She was born in Sumter, S.C., to Matthew Brown and Lucille Allen and had been a resident of Bridgeport since 1967. She attended Morris Brown College and graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor's of science in 1993.
