Pearl River Man Stole $250 From Restaurant Depot, Police Say
PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A Pearl River man was nabbed stealing more than $250 worth of merchandise from the Restaurant Depot in Blauvelt on Saturday, Jan. 21, according to the Orangetown Police. Pablo Sigcha, 41, was charged with petit larceny after store security stopped and held the Pearl River resident until police arrived when they observed him leaving the store without paying for the goods, police said. Sigcha was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 1.

Blauvelt Man Caught With Heroin During Domestic Violence Call, Police Say
BLAUVELT, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police charged a Blauvelt man with possessing heroin on Wednesday, Jan. 25, during a domestic violence call. Conor Grant, 24, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after police found the heroin while investigating the domestic violence incident at a home in Blauvelt, police said. He was released and is due to appear in court on Feb. 22.

Orangetown Officer Promoted To Detective Division
Orangetown, N.Y. -- After 11 years with the department, Officer Brian Domitrovits was recently promoted to detective with the Youth Division of the department's Detective Bureau, according to the Orangetown Police Department. Garnerville Man Had Backpack With 81 Grams Of Marijuana, Police Say
GARNERVILLE, N.Y. -- A Garnerville man was caught with a backpack with more than 81 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop on Monday, according to the Stony Point Police. Jamell R. Lockhart, 21, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana after officers discovered he was in possession of 2.7 grams of marijuana during the stop. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered the backpack with 81.8 grams of marijuana, said Lt. Keith Williams. Lockhart was released on a traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on March 7.

Motorist Who Crashes Into Utility Pole Was Drunk, Orangetown Police Say
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Congers man was driving drunk at more than twice the legal limit when he hit a utility pole on Friday, according to the Orangetown Police Department. Daniel Vondervor, 26, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after police found him standing beside his car on Midland Avenue following the crash, police said. When officers approached Vondervor they reported smelling alcohol on his breath and that he had glassy eyes and slurred speech, police said. Man Pulled Over In Stony Point Was Driving Impaired, Police Say
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point Police arrested a New Windsor man high on drugs following a traffic accident on Monday. Andrew Verhille, 25, was charged with DWAI/drugs after officers determined he was driving under the influence of drugs when the accident occurred on Route 9W. No others cars were involved in the crash, said Lt. Keith Williams. Verhille was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 15.

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Commuters should plan for extra travel time over the next two weeks as work on Route 119 will close westbound lanes beginning Monday, Jan. 30, according to the state Department of Transportation.
