Fire Rips Through Place Of Prayer In Monsey
MONSEY, N.Y. -- Fire ravaged a small shul off Main Street in Monsey early Monday, leaving the Jewish place of prayer boarded up and uninhabitable, according to Fios1news.com. Worshippers, in the building at the time of the fire at the Sanz-Klausenberger shul, were able to rescue the Torah, reported Fios1news.com. The fire was caused by a defective dryer, according to Ramapo Police Detective Lt. Mark Emma. Police do not know the extent of the damage at this time. There were no reported injuries. Clarkstown Police Investigate Pair Of Overnight Burglaries
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown police are investigating two overnight burglaries that occurred at two convenience stores early Monday in Upper Nyack and Valley Cottage. The first burglary occurred at 3:30 a.m. at the Citgo Station at 501 N. Highland Ave., in Upper Nyack, police said. When officers arrived they were met by a worker who said he was sleeping in the back of the store when he heard noises. Recent fatal crashes involving tow truck operators and highway workers have prompted Gov. Andrew M.
