Spring Valley Teen Tampered With Evidence In Murder Case, Police Say
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley man has been charged with tampering with evidence related to the January stabbing murder of Justin Speights, a volunteer Silver Lake firefighter and former Pine Bush High School football player, according to the New York State Police.
Rasso Chambers, 19, was charged Wednesday with one count of tampering with physical evidence, a felony, state police said.
Speights, 20, was killed trying to break up a fight at a New Year's Eve party in Pine Bush.

Kent Man Damages Victim's RV, Pushes Him To Ground During Fight, Police Say
KENT, N.Y. -- A Kent man found himself behind bars after getting into an argument with another man on Thursday, Nov. 24, according to the Kent Police Department.
Jeffrey Oakes, 47, was charged with assault and criminal mischief after pushing another 60-year-old Kent resident to the ground, causing lacerations to his body and damaging his recreational vehicle, police said.
Oakes is being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.
Putnam Man, Woman Charged With Heroin Possession
KENT, N.Y. -- Kent police charged two Putnam Valley residents with heroin possession after making a routine stop to investigate a parked car on Waywayanda Court, according to the Kent Police Department.
Richard Wulfhop, 31, and Brenda Jordan, 48, were busted when the officer stopped to find out why they were parked in a dark car and discovered heroin, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia, police said.
A female matron, who searched Jordan at police headquarters, also found a baggie of cocaine in her sock, police said.
